And Saddam Hussein is scheduled to be executed by hanging at dawn.

News services are reporting this event as taking place by 6 a.m. Saturday morning in Iraq, which is the start of Eid.  According to Reuters

An execution at the start of Eid would be highly symbolic. The feast marks the sacrifice the prophet Abraham was prepared to make when God ordered him to kill his son and many Shi'ites could regard Saddam's death as a gift from God. Such symbolism could further anger Sunnis, resentful of new Shi'ite power.

Hussein is said to be in "high spirits."

According to another Reuters story, one of his daughters has asked for his body to be buried in Yemen until Iraq has been "liberated and it can be reburied in Iraq."
