My son just got accepted into Hiram College!!

He just got the phone call.  They told him that his acceptance package was in the mail, and "Welcome to the Hiram family!"

The boy and I traveled to Hiram, OH to visit the campus last summer.  It's beautiful.  Truly a world class liberal arts college.  They seem to produce well rounded citizens that question authority on a regular basis.  I liked that, and so did my boy.

I couldn't be prouder.

That's all this diary is about.  For this one evening no politics, astounding disbelief at the latest truth that kos just wrote or doubting the system.

I'm just proud of my son.  He worked hard to make this happen, and for the first time in his life he took the lead and realized his dream.  If I helped, it was to only do what he told me to do.  It felt good.

He wants to be a large animal vet or a zoologist.  He hasn't decided yet.  He's got time.  

God, I haven't felt this way since I first held him in my arms, and I don't know why.  It's just college, lol.  Yeah, I know...it's much more.  It's the beginning of his life as a man.

Congratulations, my son.  You rock!!!
