Anyone care to join me for a group head-banging?

Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 09:39:43 PM PDT

I just had one of those "I don't know whether to laugh or cry" moments as I watched the 11PM news on a Boston TV station.

As we all know, our economy is in the toilet, the endless Iraq war rages on, millions of Americans are without health insurance, and a bunch of lying thugs are in charge of America.

But with these mammoth problems facing this nation, what did our government do today?

They provided a circus, that's what they did.

In this ring, I present to you the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which held a 4-1/2 hour hearing to determine if Roger Clemens used performance-enhancing drugs. Wow, our government is protecting us from dangerous pro athletes!

And over in this ring, we have Senator Arlen Specter meeting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to discuss the Spygate case involving the New England Patriots. Can you believe Goodell dared to destroy tapes and notes from this case that endangered the welfare of every American man, woman and child? Patriots coach Bill Belichek SPIED on another football team? OMFG! Isn't it our consitutional right NOT to be spied on? Folks, this is way bigger than FISA.

And finally, in the third ring, we see President Bush doing his best Dick Clark imitation, as he introduced the Temptations at a White House concert. Yeah, really, you should have heard him. Bush said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, THE TEMPTATIONS!" in his best ringmaster voice.

And after the concert...I really must find this video...Bush said, "Thank you for coming. I'd like to invite you all to a BOO-FAY." Yes, he said BOO-FAY. I would have thrown something at the TV, but the only thing handy was a pootie.

So folks, there you have it, the news for Wednesday, February 13, 2008. Your government is hard at work for YOU, solving the problems that threaten our very way of life. Sleep well, America.

Anyone want to join me in the morning for a breakfast BOO-FAY?
