A Reading for a Dismal Day

Looking back over the past five years, I can't help but to think of W. B. Yeats' poem, "The Second Coming."  Writen in the years after the First World War, the imagery remains as powerful and as relevant as ever.

It's a testament to the work that that it applies to any times of trouble.  However, these are our times and our these are our troubles.  We see the ceremonies of innocence drowned again and again and the tears flow.
